Organised by the Autonomous University of Barcelona.
The Migration Research and Studies Centre at the Autonomous University of Barcelona is organising, with support from the Network of Excellence in Migration Studies, the 9th Congress in Migration Studies 2019. The event will be taking place at the Bellaterra Campus on 4, 5 and 6 September. An open-format seminar will be held on methods, before the congress, in the early afternoon of 4 September.
This new international scientific even is aimed at maintaining and updating an interdisciplinary and holistic discussions and debates space, backed by the success of its eight previous editions, held in Madrid (1997 and 2000), Granada (2002), Girona (2004), Valencia (2007), A Coruña (2009), Bilbao (2012) and Granada (2015). We invite members of the public to present their work there which provides new knowledge and emerging perspective in the field of migration studies and which helps to explain the worrying impact this phenomenon has globally and locally in the world and the way it is shaping people’s lives.
Entitled “Borders, exclusions and mobilities”, it Will be offering several formats for scientific dissemination and analysis (symposiums, debates, specific workshops, two round tables and a plenary talk), as well as cultural activities relating to the issue.
The congress is aimed mainly at research staff and PhD and master’s-degree students, as well as professionals and authorities working on issues relating to mobility, citizenship and social inclusion.
The sessions will be in Spanish or English.
